The Owosso Carnegie Library Property Committee voted May 28 to authorize the City Manager to investigate options to lease or acquire parking for the Carnegie Library from the neighboring Watkins Brothers funeral home, including the possibility of using a green space at the property’s northeast corner.
Committee members asked staff to confirm the building's square footage and to approach Watkins Brothers about leasing or purchasing parking spaces. Vice Chairman Justin Horvath moved to authorize the City Manager to investigate these options; Piper Brewer seconded the motion and the committee approved it ("Ayes all").
Piper Brewer noted the library lease expiration date during member comments; the minutes do not include the lease expiration date. No members of the public spoke during the meeting. The committee adjourned at 7:33 p.m.; minutes were submitted by Amy Fuller, Assistant City Manager acting as City Liaison.
