Planning Commission recommends conditional-use permit for second home at 5984 West State Farm Road

The Lincoln County Planning Commission on May 12 recommended approval of conditional-use File CU26-003 to allow construction of a second dwelling at 5984 West State Farm Road.
County Planner Judy Clark told the commission the applicants, Jeffrey and Amy Short, requested the second home to house elderly parents. Clark said staff believes the roughly 60-acre parcel’s size and access via a county-improved road mean the additional residence would generate only minimal residential traffic and would not be a detriment to neighboring properties. "Planning Staff has no objections to the proposed 2nd dwelling," Clark stated.
Applicant Jeffrey Short was present to represent the request. Following the staff presentation, Commissioner Lee Davies moved and Commissioner Aaron Edwards seconded adoption of Resolution CU26-003 A, which recommends approval of the conditional-use permit based on compliance with Lincoln County Zoning Regulations, Subdivision Regulations and the county Comprehensive Plan. The motion passed on a roll-call vote with all members present voting aye: Chair Brent Roggow, Judy Pederson, Edwards, Davies, Zak Eickhoff, Chuck Boden and Roger Merritt.
The commission’s recommendation forwards the matter consistent with the findings cited in the resolution. No additional conditions beyond standard compliance were recorded in the hearing minutes. The commission adjourned the public-hearing portion of this item before moving to subsequent agenda items.
