County, Forest Service receive grants; Richfield trail crew hiring and Travel Bureau signage funded

Wade Allinson told the Emery County Trails Committee on April 7 that the county and Forest Service were awarded multiple grants, including OHVR and RTP applications, and described an upcoming grant cycle running July 15–mid‑August with reviews in September.
Allinson said much of the OHVR funding is supported by OHV registration fees and that the Richfield Trail Crew will advertise a hire and aim to begin work the first week of July; he added that a heavy winter could extend work into snow‑management (snowcat) tasks. The committee discussed statewide trail crews and a recent side‑by‑side certification training held in Carbon County.
AnnDee Mead of the Travel Bureau reported that the department won a signage crew grant and has posted the job announcement. She distributed a community impact report summarizing last year’s events and said updated maps were sent to print for upcoming OHV events; she also raised the possibility of creating user‑specific maps and discussed how to respond to trail report submissions.
The Trails Grant application window was noted as open through April 15.
