Jeana Woodbury, chair of the Hinsdale Library Trustees, called the meeting to order at 6:00 p.m. and the trustees unanimously approved the Jan. 21 minutes and the financial report.
The trustees discussed correspondence including a renewal notice from the Keene Sentinel and decided, after weighing cost against use, not to renew the library’s subscription to the Sentinel.
Assistant Librarian Lesley reported she asked the state to add Hinsdale to the pick-up/drop-off route for interlibrary loans; Lesley said the state replied, "not at this time." She also noted housekeeping and facilities items including a damaged outside trash-can cover that should be replaced in spring.
Lesley outlined other work under way: she is preparing state reports due in April, tracking grant deadlines for program and outdoor-space funding, and shared results from a patron survey that showed library hours are a recurring concern the trustees plan to revisit at future meetings. Lesley and staff member Brenda have been reorganizing the back room and closet to improve storage and access.
Under old business, trustee Christine described plans for community programming: soliciting plant donations through a conservation association, a seed-swap kickoff with gardening activities and spring-themed displays, and outreach to museums about placing passes and information at the library. Trustee Katie suggested contacting the University of New Hampshire for support. Trustees discussed incorporating pass and program information into the library’s website per the Master Plan.
Trustee Shirley moved to adjourn; Christine seconded and the meeting ended at 6:57 p.m. No formal votes on policy or budget reallocations were taken at the meeting.
Meeting attendees recorded in the minutes were Jeana (Woodbury), Katie, Christine, Shirley; Karen was excused. Assistant librarians Lesley and Brenda and Selectman Mike were listed as present.
