Beekmantown board approves year-end transfers, several routine resolutions

At its Feb. 2 work session the Town of Beekmantown board approved a set of routine resolutions — accepting the 2025 financial cleanup and contingency balance, recreation appointments, approval of minutes and appointment of a new town attorney — all by 4-0 votes.
The Town of Beekmantown board on Feb. 2 approved a series of routine measures intended to close out the 2025 fiscal year and maintain town operations.
Sue Mousseau presented the end-of-year financial report and described several budget transfers made to "clean up" accounts so the year could be closed. Mousseau reported a contingency fund balance of $41,595.45 as of Dec. 31, 2025. The board approved Resolution 49-26 to accept the report and related transfers; the motion was made by Mr. Deyo and seconded by Mr. Sand and passed on a roll-call vote of 4-0.
The board also approved Resolution 50-26 confirming Recreation Department appointments. Supervisor Sam Dyer noted that if an enumerated volunteer (Mark) was interested he could coach younger children. Motion to approve was made by Mr. Deyo, seconded by Mr. Sand; roll call 4-0.
Resolution 51-26 approved the Jan. 5, 2026 organizational meeting minutes and the Jan. 5 work session minutes. Mr. Sand moved the motion; Mr. Menard seconded; roll call 4-0.
Resolution 52-26 appointed Justin Meyer as the town's attorney. Mr. Sand moved the motion and Mr. Menard seconded; roll call 4-0.
Administrative items included scheduling a cell-tower pre-application discussion (date set) and moving the next board meeting on Feb. 17 to a 6:30 p.m. start. The board also voted to endorse a Schuyler Falls grant request for an ice-rink/roller-skating facility at Schuyler Falls Recreation Park; Sue Proctor read the letter from Schuyler Falls and the board approved expressing support by a 4-0 vote.
The meeting adjourned at 7:40 p.m. (Tammy Menard, Town Clerk, filed the minutes).
