Major actions included council approval of the Kuhlmann consolidation plan for property at 452 Canal Street and approval of the Terwilliger and Conner lot-line change for 1002 and 1090 Seventh Street — both motions were supported by the Planning Commission recommendations and carried without recorded opposition. Council also approved a progress payment of $311,775.05 to Youngblood Paving, Inc. for the 2023 Road Paving Project No. 2, with reimbursements expected from Columbia Gas totaling $127,808.95.
Council authorized the solicitor to draft an ordinance establishing guidelines and penalties for disorderly tenants and property owners and approved payment of $15,459.00 to Team Force for upfitting a 2023 Ford police vehicle with emergency equipment. Council also approved payment of Cardello Electric Supply & Lighting invoice # dated June 5, 2024 in the amount of $31,035.88 for new lighting at Shaw Park; Friends of Beaver Parks contributed $15,578.00 toward that expense, leaving the Borough responsible for $15,457.88.
Motions were moved and seconded as recorded in the meeting minutes (examples: consolidation motion by Whitney Learn-Conjeski; paving payment motion by Michael Deelo). All motions in this package passed on voice votes with no councilmember recorded as dissenting. The meeting adjourned at 7:52 p.m.
Next steps identified in the manager’s report include drafting the disorderly-tenants ordinance for solicitor review and following up on the engineering review letter for the consolidation plan.
