The Ouachita Parish Police Jury voted on Sept. 3 to proceed with Option B for courthouse and annex renovations, funding construction from ARPA funds and paying the architect fee from the ARPA interest fund. The motion passed without opposition.
During the same meeting, Mr. Shane Smiley moved and the Jury approved a $150,000 ARPA allocation for Pilots for Patients. The Jury also approved reassignment of ARPA funds from a sewer project to the Calhoun baseball facility, subject to vetting.
The president and the public works director were authorized to travel to Washington, D.C., to meet with the congressional delegation to request funding for projects. The actions were adopted by unanimous motions recorded in the minutes.
