The Dennis Planning Board approved a Chapter 91 waterways license on June 16 for 37 Horsefoot Road, allowing the owner to extend an existing pier from 44 feet to 65 feet, remove the shoreline stairs and maintain public access below the structure.
Paul, planning staff, described the project as an extension of an existing pier and noted an order of conditions from the Conservation Commission. "They're actually gonna extend it from 44 feet to 65 feet," Paul said, adding the new floating portion will move farther out in the Bass River and that the float must sit over at least three feet of water.
Board members asked for sheet 1 of the plans and discussed whether routine pier reviews should be handled outside a public meeting when there are no objections from harbor or shellfish officials. Liz Patterson moved to approve the Chapter 91 license for 37 Horsefoot Road; the motion was seconded and approved by roll call with all present voting in favor.
The board did not attach additional conditions beyond normal conservation and harbor-related requirements noted in the order of conditions.
