The administration recommended awarding RFP 20260826 (E‑Rate Network Modernization for the Jim Hill feeder pattern) to TechLinks (C Spire) for $857,852, a project the district said will replace aging multimode fiber, low-voltage copper cabling, network racks and UPS power units. "This is the first phase of a multiyear network modernization plan," Mr. Slade said, adding that E‑Rate covers 85% of eligible costs and the district share would be roughly $128,677.80.
Project scope and benefits: presenters said the upgrade will improve resiliency by eliminating daisy-chained closets, support modern wireless infrastructure, and increase uptime for instructional technology like Chromebooks and interactive panels. The work was described as phased and scheduled to avoid instructional disruptions.
Procurement record and motion: a board member noted two contract documents had been omitted from the posted board packet (a quote and an addendum); the administration agreed to reinsert the addendum and quote plus the service-level agreement and terms and conditions so the full four-document contract package will be included in board records. The board approved the award and the motion to include all four contract documents in the official record by voice vote.
