Lower Pottsgrove reports flooding at High Street Bridge; PennDOT to simulate rain to test inlets

Township Manager Edward C. Wagner told the Board April 7 that contractor JD Eckman completed temporary repairs to the High Street Bridge on March 26, and two short flooding incidents followed. Wagner said an incident on March 31 produced about 12 inches of water after a clogged drain and barriers blocking an inlet; barriers were raised and the drain cleaned. A second, shorter flood occurred on April 5 and lasted roughly 15 minutes.
Wagner said he has spoken with PennDOT, which plans to simulate a rain event by bringing a water truck to flood the westbound lane so inlets can be inspected and tested. He also said he reached out to Representative Joe Ciresi and Senator Tracy Pennycuick to arrange an on‑site meeting and that Representative Ciresi’s office has contacted PennDOT to set that up.
Wagner also reported the Snell Road Bridge project is nearly complete; final paving may be delayed by weather. No timetable for the PennDOT simulation or the on‑site meeting with state legislators was provided in the meeting record.
The Board was invited to attend the PennDOT site inspection once scheduled.
