NC3 reviews summer celebration plans, Calumet maintenance notice, Facebook engagement and local crime mapping

During Old Business and committee reports, Neighborhood Council 3 reviewed several routine community updates and communications metrics.
Garri Mauch said the Summer Celebration is set for Aug. 22 at Jaycee Park and listed planned attractions including face painting, bouncy houses, the Book Mobile, a fire truck from GFFD and attendance by GFPD; the event will include a community raffle of donated items. Calumet provided an update about planned maintenance activities; Eric Peterson reported that NC3's Facebook page had 1,159 followers and that in the 28-day window (April 9 to May 6) the page had 57,816 views, a 1,478% increase in views, and engagement totaling 6,715 interactions (including 212 reactions, 29 comments and 20 shares), with peak engagement on April 29 tied to Calumet's media release.
A crime-mapping report summarized 45 reports in the area of which 29 were theft/larceny, one motor-vehicle theft, one drug or alcohol violation, three burglaries, one vandalism, one disturbing-the-peace report, seven assaults and one vehicle break-in; the report noted no DUIs. On fundraising, Calumet updated its donation application process, Garri Mauch submitted a new request and applications that were open through April had recently closed; the council will report back on outcomes. Eric Peterson led a brief signing of updated bylaws and members noted the next meeting before summer recess is June 4; Kathleen Gessaman moved to end the meeting and Emily Bertsch seconded.
