West Milford authorizes liens to recover costs for two unsafe properties

The Township Construction Official declared the building unsafe and ordered it boarded up; the contractor submitted an invoice for $1,470.00. The resolution directs the Township Attorney to take necessary actions to recover those costs, including filing a lien under Township Code 285-11.
Resolution 2025-463 addresses a property at Block 3503, Lot 37 (23 Cooley Lane) that the Construction Official determined posed an imminent threat and required immediate demolition. The township will perform the demolition and clean up and the recorded invoice is $4,043.20. The resolution similarly directs the Township Attorney to recover demolition costs and file a lien as permitted under N.J.S.A. 40:48-2.3 and Township Code 285-11.
