Town of Union approves FFY 2024–25 CDBG and HOME plan, authorizes HUD submission

The Town of Union Board on July 10, 2024 adopted a resolution approving the FFY 2024–2025 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) 5‑Year Consolidated Plan, Annual Action Plan and HOME Program and authorized town staff to submit the necessary documentation to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development by Aug. 16, 2024. The resolution was moved by Councilman David Kudgus and seconded by Councilman Thomas R. Augostini; the vote was recorded as all yes.
Supervisor Robert Mack opened a public hearing on the CDBG/HOME plans at the start of the meeting; no members of the public spoke and Mack closed the hearing. The adopted resolution authorizes the Town Supervisor, the Planning Director and the Deputy Planning Director to execute and submit all required materials to HUD.
The plans set priorities and proposed projects for federal CDBG and HOME funds in the coming program year; the Board’s approval starts the local submission process required by HUD. The resolution and accompanying documentation must be filed by the Aug. 16 deadline. The board did not make detailed project awards during the July 10 meeting; further project-level allocations would be expected through later resolutions or staff reports.
The Board adopted the resolution as part of a consent slate of motions that passed unanimously. No further public testimony on the plans was recorded at the July 10 meeting.
