Jotham Arber provided the board with Public Health updates during the Audubon County Board of Supervisors meeting on May 26.
Arber said a community health needs assessment will be published later this month and distributed to local health entities to help identify priorities. He reported that a volunteer-staffed free clinic has attracted local provider commitments and will offer free services to community members. Arber also said Environmental Health has been conducting swimming-pool inspections and perc tests, and that staff are preparing for the Ragbrai bicycle event passing through Exira.
The board received the updates; no formal action or vote on public-health programs was recorded in the minutes.
