James said the committee is coordinating with local historical societies and volunteers to capture elders’ memories on video and to stage children’s summer history programs across multiple venues in the county. She noted challenges in securing turning-in locations for flags in Cashiers and invited board members and the public to help identify sites and interview subjects.
