A selectboard member moved to authorize up to $7,500 from capital/maintenance funds for the town's match; the motion was seconded and the board approved the authorization (the transcript does not record a roll-call with individual yes/no votes). The transcript records an abstention and at least one dissent during the vote sequence, and the chair announced the authorization would be for up to $7,500.
Earlier in the meeting Treasurer Linda delivered the monthly report: a general-fund balance of $1,712,145.70 and, after removing payroll, accounts payable and other obligations, a working balance of $286,862.98. She reported $1.5 million in a renewed certificate of deposit at 3.38% APR and additional CDs and revolving-account balances (ambulance fees, recreation commission, planning board, police detail fees). Linda said she and Julie will provide a monthly impact-fee report after further reconciliation.
What happens next: the chief financial officer and treasurer will record the appropriation and, if the formal matching grant application is successful, the town's share will be charged to the town buildings capital or maintenance account as authorized; the contractor work and volunteer contributions will be coordinated with the applicant.
