"I am living my dream. This is the best job in the world," Johnson said, thanking council members and inviting them to visit the program’s community center. He said the organization is located at 211 Kataba Street and announced an open house and fundraiser set for Friday, June 12. Johnson also noted that teams from the program recently competed in a Lake Placid soccer tournament.
Council members praised the group’s work improving attendance and providing safe after‑school space. The resolution text cited Tilly’s Touch’s role in mentorship, academic support and community engagement and directed that the recognition be presented following the meeting.
The council’s adoption of the resolution was recorded during the meeting with the item introduced and urged for adoption by the sponsoring councilor and then approved by voice vote.
