Enfield staff report progress on state loan and grant applications; DPW hosting trainings
Summary
Town staff reported the Crystal Lake Watershed SRF loan application is under state review, the Granite State Clean Fleets grant documents are with the state awaiting Department of Justice review, RFPs for equipment were issued, and DPW will host maintenance and water/sewer trainings.
Town staff told the Select Board that several infrastructure and operations funding efforts are moving forward.
The Crystal Lake Watershed State Revolving Fund loan application has been submitted and is under state review; if approved it will proceed to the governor and council for final action and the town will begin soliciting applications for project committees once approval is confirmed.
DPW staff reported that documents for the Granite State Clean Fleets grant are complete and under state review prior to Department of Justice review and forwarding to the governor and council. The DPW has issued RFPs for a walk-behind commercial mower and will issue an RFP for the water/sewer truck approved at town meeting. The department is also hosting a UNH technology transfer certified maintenance class and a water/sewer training session on corrosion-control polymers.
Staff described road conditions: gravel roads are generally in good shape with a few muddy areas, while Cape roads are exhibiting severe heaving that the town engineer and DPW will monitor and program into the budget committee's work. The town manager said engineering and project preparation for the Shaker Bridge sewer pumping station (approved at town meeting) are underway.
A resident urged the board to schedule a joint public presentation of the Masoma Watershed management plan in mid-June; the board asked staff to coordinate with the planning board and the consultant (FB Environmental) on a public meeting date. The board also discussed timing for the budget committee's organizational meeting and membership, and whether to proceed before an absent board member returns.
