Courthouse elevator taken out of service after employee trapped, fire department responds

A commissioner reported that courthouse staff received a call that Cole Michaels had become stuck in the courthouse elevator earlier in the day. County staff and the fire department responded and freed the individual; the elevator was taken out of service pending repair.
"Cole Michaels got stuck in the elevator and called me and Baron got there and we had to get the fire department to the courthouse just in the last half hour to get him out," the commissioner said. The board was told the elevator is currently down.
No further health or safety updates were provided at the meeting. Commissioners did not vote or direct immediate expenditure for repairs during the session; staff indicated the matter would be addressed and reported back.
