Lincoln County adopts FY 2026–27 budget; board approves dispatch change order and SRO position transfers
Summary

At the close of a large zoning docket on June 1, the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners opened and closed the public hearing on the fiscal year 2026–27 budget and adopted the budget ordinance by unanimous vote.
County staff then presented an implementation change order (Change Order 7) to the on‑call dispatch and records contract with Hexagon Safety & Infrastructure, reducing the contract value by $375,000; the board authorized the county manager to execute the change order.
County management also sought board approval to create five deputy positions to allow the transfer of school‑resource officers (SROs) currently covered by city police to the sheriff’s office. Staff estimated a net incremental county cost of about $125,000 when city compensation is taken into account; the board approved the positions.
