The superintendent told the board the district is weighing two main options: invest additional funds to finish and sod the areas so they remain stable or continue lower‑cost repairs and reseeding on an as‑needed basis. “They have been coming back and working on it...but in reality when it rains it’s just washing the dirt off,” staff said during the meeting.
Board members asked about the original contract terms, whether the contractor’s obligation covers the work, and the degree to which the district can require corrective measures under the contract. Staff said the contractor agreed to reseed and had attempted to remedy the issue; board members pressed for written cost estimates and suggested the item be discussed in more detail at the planned work session so the board can decide whether to pay to finish the fields for regular play or fund continued maintenance for practice use.
No formal vote on capital spending occurred at the meeting; staff committed to return with estimates comparing sodding/finishing costs versus ongoing maintenance to inform a future decision.
