On June 3 the commission approved several administrative and programmatic items affecting resident services and city operations.
The commission amended and approved a parks & recreation resolution that lowers annual membership fees for eligible residents (primary account $75) and discounted categories (seniors 65+, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and city employees). The motion added three amendments: the benefit applies to residents only, "immediate family" was clarified to mean household members, and the effective date was set to Jan. 1, 2027. The resolution preserves existing senior center access hours (10 a.m. to 3 p.m.).
Separately, the commission adopted an amendment to the fiscal year 2025–26 budget to recognize supplemental revenues and appropriate expenditures across the general, building, and parks & recreation funds; administration cited drivers including higher senior-center usage, permitting modernization and public-safety payroll changes. The commission also approved a $16,500 contract with Light Effects Pros for the city27s 2026 Fourth of July celebration (enterprise account funding) and voted to change the code enforcement board27s regular meeting start time from 6:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
All items passed on voice votes with no recorded oppositions in the meeting.
