The commission approved two related items on June 3 to close out a phase of the city27s portable water system improvements. Administration said the EPA granted additional federal funds (discussed as $750,000) to cover compliance and cost gaps in Phase 1 tied to Buy America requirements; staff said no local match is required.
Related to that grant amendment, the commission approved change order No. 4 to the existing contract with Mogul Inc. for up to $750,000 to complete Phase 2 work and allow the contractor to remobilize. City Engineer and staff said the work will also support follow-on Phase 3 advertising and bids.
Commissioners approved both measures without recorded opposition. Staff said the additional grant funds and change order will allow the city to finish the prioritized water improvements and address pending field work and drainage connections.
