After a continued public hearing, the Foxborough Select Board approved the transfer of an on‑premise annual all‑alcohol beverage license for 267 Patriot Place from Olsen Restaurant Group (Axel and Burn) to Angel’s Cafe of Foxboro LLC, and granted annual entertainment and common‑victualler licenses to the new operator.
Brian Early, with Patriot Place Craft Group, introduced the Angel’s Cafe team and said the hearing was a continuation from Oct. 7. "This is about the transfer of the all-liquor license from Axel and Burn to Angel's Cafe," he said, and introduced the owner and consultant. The owner described Angel’s Cafe as a successful breakfast-and-cafe concept from Sharon that serves largely fresh, made‑from‑scratch Mediterranean-style food and will keep liquor to a limited cocktail offering rather than operate as a full bar.
Board members asked about hours, manager certification, staffing and market fit at Patriot Place. Presenters said they intend to operate roughly 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., will certify managers with TIPS and food-safety training, and see demand from nearby medical centers and hotel traffic. "We fresh squeeze everything there," the owner said of menu preparation.
Following discussion, the board closed the public hearing, moved to approve the license transfer and separately approved annual entertainment and common‑victualler licenses for Angel's Cafe at 267 Patriot Place. The applicants estimated a potential opening in four to six weeks and indicated they would open without alcoholic beverage service if necessary while waiting for final liquor permissions.
The Select Board welcomed the new business and encouraged the owners to engage with community stakeholders as they open.
