Town manager reports $75,000 earmark for veterans parking, events and planned Route 140 restriping

She also listed upcoming veterans events (a candlelight vigil, a resource fair, a breakfast and an ice‑cream social) and municipal finance “101” sessions for residents to learn about local budgets.
On public safety and events, Paige clarified recent coverage about a Morgan Wallen concert, saying there was no town ban — fines for curfew violations were managed and no ongoing ban was imposed. She also reminded residents that short‑term rentals like Airbnbs are not permitted in town and reported that police are following up on a company that solicited private parking spaces online.
Paige said Town staff have been working with MassDOT and an engineering plan is in place to restripe Route 140 (between the Shell station and the charter school entrance) to add turning lanes; she said the work could be scheduled for a Sunday night. The manager encouraged residents to RSVP for boards and committee training on Sept. 30 and to participate in the master plan survey online.
