At their June 3 meeting, the Pike County Board of Commissioners handled routine and formal business items including minutes, payments, personnel actions and several authorizations.
The board approved the May 20 and May 27 meeting minutes and authorized payment of county bills and fund disbursements as presented. Multiple personnel motions were approved, including transfers and hires (for example, Jacob Pennings to maintenance staff, Kyler Clark to correctional officer, Denise Richards as administrative clerk, Ariel Alman and Shannon Gallagher as correctional officers, and others). The salary board convened as part of the meeting and set hourly and annual rates retroactive to stated dates; motions were made and seconded and recorded as carried on the transcript.
Commissioners also moved to advertise bids for the sale of transportation vehicles and adopted Resolution No. 2618, a request to the Commonwealth’s Department of Community and Economic Development for modification of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding for federal fiscal year 2022. The board authorized execution of an Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) agreement on behalf of the Office of Human Services, approved human-services payment vouchers presented in the meeting, and authorized execution of a memorandum of agreement with the Probation Officers Association.
Earlier in the meeting the chair announced agenda item No. 5 (a contract approval) would be tabled because the solicitor was on vacation and the board preferred to have solicitor review before acting. For each listed motion the transcript records motions, seconds and the chair calling for "all in favor," with no roll-call tallies recorded in the public transcript.
