Board approves street closure for Bartlett Lions Club car show on Aug. 9

The Bartlett Village Board on June 2 approved a road-closure permit requested by the Bartlett Lions Club for a car show scheduled Sunday, Aug. 9. The closure covers South Eastern Avenue from Onida to West Bartlett Road and would run from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., with the Lions Club required to provide appropriate insurance and to submit documents for review by the village attorney.
Chairman Berman presented the request during the License & Ordinance committee report and moved to approve the closure. The motion was seconded and the clerk recorded affirmative roll-call votes from Trustees Leaport, Swansky, Betterman, Dany, Ganzy and Hopkins; the motion carried.
The village packet includes a map and the motion states approval is pending satisfactory insurance and village attorney review. No public opposition or safety concerns were raised on the record at the meeting.
What happens next: Subject to insurance and attorney review, village staff will issue the permit and coordinate traffic control for the event.
