Community Foundation seeks Jackson Awards nominations; will announce $100,000 in grants June 23

Haley Fortune of the Community Foundation of West Tennessee said nominations are open through June 30 for the Jackson Awards, which recognize achievements in arts, education, health care, leadership and volunteer service.
“We've awarded over a hundred people in our community with these awards,” Fortune said, noting the foundation has presented the Jackson Awards since 2006. Nomination forms are online at cfwtn.org and the foundation encourages letters of support (not required) to give selection committees additional context.
Fortune also said the foundation will announce 12 community impact grants totaling $100,000 on June 23. She said winners and award recipients will be notified and publicized in August and the foundation will work behind the scenes to prepare head shots and announcements.
The foundation’s major annual fundraising gala and patrons party are scheduled for November; nominees and awardees will be part of that weekend’s events. Fortune encouraged community members to nominate people who work behind the scenes and to use the foundation’s online form to submit entries.
