Board hires Columbia City High School girls basketball coach and outlines process to fill Peabody library vacancy

The board discussed the compensation formula for coaches: for basketball and football the district uses an 11% salary calculation plus a $7,500 stipend; Filman’s contract will follow that structure.
A board member moved to hire "Kyle Filman as the girls basketball coach at Columbia City High School," another member seconded the motion, and the motion passed unanimously.
Separately the board reviewed a recommended process to fill an upcoming vacancy on the Peabody Public Library Board that will begin June 14. The board member leading the item said the recommendation is to post an interested-applicant form on the district website, accept applications, interview candidates at the June 15 business meeting, and vote at the first July meeting (July 6). The appointed term for the vacancy will run until May 17, 2028 because the existing term is not yet halfway complete.
No other personnel actions were taken. The board confirmed upcoming meeting dates and adjourned.
