The Boone City Council approved resolutions to set consultation and public hearings on two urban-renewal matters and scheduled a public hearing related to a State Revolving Fund (SRF) loan.
Council approved Resolution 3538 to set dates for consultation and a public hearing on proposed Amendment No. 12 to the Southeast Boone urban renewal plan and Resolution 3539 to set dates for consultation and a public hearing on the proposed East Central Housing urban renewal plan for Boone, Iowa. Both measures were moved, seconded and approved by roll call.
The council also set a July 6, 2026 public hearing at 6 p.m. to review an SRF loan application and to make the environmental information document and the city’s project plan available to the public. Staff said the hearing will allow the public to review the environmental information and comment on the SRF loan application prior to submission and permitting steps.
Council directions included notifying interested parties of the hearing dates and ensuring environmental documentation is posted in advance of the July 6 hearing.
