Eau Claire board approves consent agendas, including McKinley name-change item

The Eau Claire Area School District board approved the superintendent's consent agenda and the board's consent agenda during its June meeting, voting to accept a package of routine and standing items without separate discussion. The superintendent's consent agenda included personnel and human-resources reports, multiple months of financial statements and reported gifts; the board consent agenda included minutes, the 2026—1 work calendar, employee handbook modifications and a McKinley name-change item.

The superintendent's consent agenda was moved by Commissioner Dement and seconded by Pika; the board adopted the consolidated motion by voice vote after the chair asked for those in favor to say "I." The board consent agenda was later moved and seconded and likewise carried by voice vote.

Board members did not pull any items from either consent list for separate discussion at the meeting. The items on the consent lists included line-item financial and payroll figures and gift totals that were provided to board members in the meeting packet. No further substantive action or separate roll-call tally was recorded on the floor for these consent items; the meeting record shows the consolidated motions carried.
