Board honors retiring sheriff’s deputies, approves awards and K9 retirement

Separately, the sheriff requested formal retirement and transfer of K9 Rocco to his handler after veterinary review showed the dog had a spinal condition and was no longer fit for duty. The board approved retiring Rocco and turning custody to his handler.
