Brown County’s Board of Zoning Appeals approved a site-plan amendment to an existing tourist-home special exception that will allow owner Crystal Green to construct a 36-by-36-foot livestock barn on her property at 2477 Lanam Ridge Road.
Staff explained the property already holds a tourist-home special exception; the requested amendment would not change the number of guest rooms or septic capacity. The owner told the board she lives on-site year-round and said the new barn replaces a previous barn that burned and a later pole barn that does not meet her livestock needs. The owner’s builder spoke in support.
No members of the public opposed the amendment. After brief discussion a motion to approve docket 26-SE-02 passed on roll-call vote with all members present voting in favor. Staff will follow up on permitting requirements and any conditions tied to the special exception.
The approval allows the owner to proceed with constructing the barn as shown on the amended site plan and subject to applicable building- and health-department requirements.
