Penfield Board approves budget changes, appointments, contracts and pro-housing pledge

The Penfield Town Board on June 3 approved a slate of routine measures, including budget amendments, personnel appointments, a contract award and a pro-housing pledge.
The board unanimously approved multiple finance items, including authorization of 2026 budget amendments and transfers and acceptance of financial statements and the New York State Annual Update Document. The board accepted a grant to the Penfield Public Library and approved a specific library fund amendment to spend the funds.
The board accepted a donation of a custom etched-glass art piece from local artist Nancy Gong valued at approximately $4,000 and authorized the supervisor to sign an intermunicipal agreement with the Penfield Central School District. It also adopted a pro-housing community pledge.
In public works business the board awarded a contract for purchase and installation of a metal roof on the Wayland Road barn and thanked Department of Public Works staff for their work on the project. The board also appointed an auto mechanic foreman (full time) and a full-time laborer in the sewer division.
All motions recorded on the floor were moved, seconded and passed by recorded voice vote of the five board members present (Supervisor Barry; Council Members Dean, Goetz, Lang and Teglash), each item passing with five ayes unless otherwise noted. One resolution (26T-108) was withdrawn from the agenda by unanimous consent.
The board announced the next legislative meeting will be July 1, 2026.
