On June 2, 2026 the Williamson County Parks and Recreation Committee approved three separate budget amendments that redirect donation and participant-fee revenue into the FY2026 parks budget.
The committee approved an appropriation of $331,246.77 from donations to pay for staffing (officials and scorekeepers) and maintenance and repair of athletic facilities. Staff said the donations come from recreation associations that run leagues and pay for officials and some turf management and fencing work.
The committee also approved a $215,000 appropriation from participant fees for the performing arts center and community activities. Staff told the committee that about $155,000 covers revenue splits with outside entertainment companies that rent the performing-arts venue and $60,000 funds vendor‑taught community classes.
Separately, the committee approved a $47,800 appropriation funded by donations from the Brimwood Ball Club to remove and replace fencing on two baseball fields; staff said the club will cover the full cost, and the county will record the donated revenue in the capital improvements program.
All three measures were approved by voice vote in committee and will proceed to the county commission as budget amendments. Members asked staff to continue reviewing leases and rental processes for fairgrounds property and to provide more granular line items for capital requests tied to Castle Park before further action.
