Trustees also raised staffing and programming needs tied to facility improvements: adding an assistant librarian to help manage services and lead teen programming, and developing a teen advisory board and maker-space options (for example, a 3D printer and sewing machines) to boost teen engagement. Several trustees framed the plan as aspirational, acknowledging funding constraints and suggesting the board produce both an aspirational list and a fiscally constrained list for the Select Board.
The director said the large ADA grant application remains pending and staff will coordinate a capital-plan prep meeting (noted for early August) to assemble cost estimates and finalize the presentation for the Select Board.
