Wauseon council discusses clerk term limits, community board and concerns about electric bikes

During new business, councilors commended recent work on Folk/Bton Street and then raised several items for future discussion. Councilors also asked that an item be scheduled to consider creating a community board or signage area where residents and organizations could announce events; the clerk was asked to make a note for future scheduling.
Separately, the council discussed concerns about fast electric bikes and motorized skateboards operating on sidewalks and streets. Members noted that much of the baseline regulation is set by Ohio bicycle law but that the council can establish local prohibitions for specific areas. No ordinance was proposed at the meeting; the conversation was a request for staff to report back on options.
