Open Space Committee reports $200K CPC award and third‑party funding toward 65‑acre acquisition

He reported that when the town added a warrant article to purchase 2095 West Street (65 acres) the committee worked with land trusts and regional partners to secure additional support: $650,000 from the Pucket Water Supply Board and $500,000 from the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation, leaving the purchase price at approximately $2.5 million.
Selling also described parcel‑scoring work — a spreadsheet that ranks about 20 parcels and will be used to compare town‑owned land and prioritize acquisitions — and outreach plans including bat‑box building events and an upcoming pollinator talk scheduled for June 6 at the Senior Center.
Board members asked to schedule a working session to review scoring methods and disclosure approaches so the town can be proactive in acquiring high‑value parcels in the future.
