District staff recommend Egenuity/Imagine Learning site license for credit recovery

Administration told the board the product supports multilingual learners with "persistent translation" across roughly 130 languages, audio tracks in Spanish for several courses and accessibility features to meet IEP and 504 requirements, including extended time, text-to-speech and alternate assignments. The vendor's integrity tools include a secure locked browser and an IP registry, the presentation said.
Administrators said the district currently uses Kexus (a Pearson product) for credit recovery but researched additional options for 2026'27. The proposed site license for Egenuity/Edge X with professional learning (four virtual sessions and one on-site day) and 912 district-site licenses was listed at $31,525 in the materials attached to the presentation.
Board members asked whether the district would have access to the full course catalog and whether the license is a districtwide site license; administration said the package is a site license accessible to district students and that detailed course lists and contract language were included with the meeting packet. Staff acknowledged the vendor also sells per-seat licenses and that the contract contains typical audit language tied to enrollment counts, but said a site license is more affordable and that audit provisions are unlikely to apply to District 94 usage levels.
Administration said the district would require students to complete assessments in supervised, in-class settings when necessary and would use the vendor's integrity tools to guard against academic dishonesty.
The item is scheduled for formal consideration at the June 16 board meeting, when the administration will present the full contract and ask the board to authorize the purchase.
