Pottawattamie County supervisors voted June 2 to approve resolution 38-2026 authorizing a transfer from the 1520 capital project fund to the 2120 capital projects debt fund.
Becky Lahan, the Finance and Tax Officer in the auditor’s office, told the board that the state auditor requires certain payments to be disbursed from a capital projects debt fund rather than the capital project fund, so the county created the debt fund to comply with that guidance. She said when the county repays the bond, the funds will need to be transferred out of 1520 into 2120.
A supervisor moved to approve resolution 38-2026, a second was offered, and the board approved the transfer on a roll-call vote.
Next steps: the finance office will process the transfer and ensure payments are made from the appropriate fund as required by the state auditor.
