Big Bear City CSD adopts 2025 Urban Water Management Plan, water shortage contingency plan

The Big Bear City Community Services District Board on May 18 unanimously adopted Resolution 2026-15 to approve the district’s 2025 Urban Water Management Plan (UWMP) and accompanying Water Shortage Contingency Plan (WSCP) following a noticed public hearing.
Water Superintendent Jerry Griffith told the board the UWMP evaluates long-term resource planning and establishes demand management measures to ensure adequate supplies now and in the future. Griffith noted that state law requires urban water suppliers serving 3,000 or more connections to prepare and periodically update an UWMP in years ending in 0 or 5. Staff answered board questions and public comment was received before the vote.
The motion to adopt was made by Director Larry Walsh, seconded by Director John Russo, and carried unanimously (AYES: B. Rowe, J. Rowe, Russo, Walsh, Ziegler). The resolution is recorded in the BBCCSD Resolution and Ordinance Book Number 37.
