Mayor lists city updates: Palafox Street fencing, free parking maps, parade route and new PIO

City staff said fencing on Palafox Street is being installed, free-parking maps and parade-route maps are posted online, public installations at MLK Plaza and the skate park open next Tuesday, and the city has a new public information officer, Shannon Dickson.
During the press briefing the mayor and staff provided several local updates affecting downtown Pensacola.
They announced fencing along Palafox Street has started and related pedestrian-access work is underway. The mayor said free-parking maps are published on the citys Palafox and ParkPensacola web pages to show available free spaces, and parade-route maps for forthcoming parades (running down Jefferson Street) are also posted online.
Staff announced a new public information officer, Shannon Dickson, who began orientation the previous day and whose city email is now active for media inquiries. Public installations at MLK Plaza and the skate park were said to be installed and scheduled to open next Tuesday (the 13th).
The mayor encouraged residents and merchants to use posted parking maps and said staff will continue providing practical logistics updates connected to the upcoming ribbon-cutting and other downtown events.
