Chamber wins permits for Dec. 6 parade and Dec. 7 Santa event; council accepts donations for holiday lights

Erica, speaking for the Chamber, described a nighttime holiday parade proposed for Friday, Dec. 6 — lineup at 5:00 p.m. with the parade concluding about 6:00 p.m. — and a Santa visit and family event on Saturday, Dec. 7 beginning at 10:00 a.m. She said Public Works and the fire department had agreed to assist with the parade and that the Chamber would supply decorations and colored bulbs if the city allowed temporary bulb installation in downtown fixtures.
Council also read into the record and accepted donations for the 'Lights at the Lodge' event from multiple donors, including listed gifts such as $2,500 from Southwest (intive) Foundation and $1,000 from Pipestone County Medical Center, among others. Council approved the parade permit, the Santa visit request and acceptance of donations by voice votes. The Chamber said it will post signup and participation requirements on its website and in the chamber newsletter.
