Council adopts 'Second Avenue Northeast' after American Legion declines 'Veterans Drive' proposal

Ryan Ly identified himself as a county resident who represents the American Legion family and said the post voted last week to not support naming County Road 67 'Veterans Drive.' Iron Coats, introduced as an American Legion member representing about 150 veterans, told the council the post and auxiliaries had voted against supporting the Veterans Drive name and said they would support keeping Second Avenue Northeast.
Councilmembers then called the question; the motion to adopt Second Avenue Northeast carried by voice vote.
The decision provides a recognized street name for addressing and delivery; no further changes or renaming efforts were announced at the meeting.
