At its June 14 meeting the East Hampton Zoning Board of Appeals announced final determinations on two variance applications, closed the hearing records for several additional matters and asked applicants to submit follow-up materials on others.
The board voted to grant an area variance and coastal erosion hazard-area permit for 29 Lily Pond Lane (Ly Lane LP) to renovate and enlarge a residence and to legalize a pre-existing cottage; the approval was granted with conditions and votes were recorded on the roll call. The board also granted an area variance for 31 Church Street (David G. and Christina M. Seagull), with members who had reviewed the record voting in favor despite not being present at the original hearing.
Other matters: the board closed hearings or took procedural steps on several applications including a coverage-legalization request for a generator and condenser (Junir Lane Trust), an addition at 12 Bo and Lane (JH MB Beach Realty LLC), and a sculpture installed within a front-yard setback at 21 Spa Lane (21 Spa Lane LLC). Those hearings were closed or had no opposition but may require subsequent filings for final administrative approval.
The board kept the hearings open for two items that require further documentation: the pool proposal at 15 Jones Road (applicant to submit landscaping/screening plans and a street-view photo) and a coverage/patio request at 29 Dayton Lane, for which the board asked for an updated survey and suggested the applicant consider reducing patio dimensions. The hearings will be revisited at a future meeting once the requested materials are submitted.
The board adjourned and is scheduled to reconvene on July 12 for continued matters.
