A Department for Children and Families representative from the Morrisville district office attended the meeting to request permission to place banners and window displays to recruit foster parents and to organize May activities to recognize foster families.
Andrew Burton (resource coordinator) described local needs — the district has roughly 100 families in family cases and 32 children in DCF custody — and requested a waiver or guidance so banners and storefront displays can remain in place during recruiting and appreciation drives. The administration said sign waivers are typically handled by the zoning administrator (or by staff on a short-term basis) and encouraged DCF to coordinate with the executive assistant to pursue a waiver or display permissions.
Board members thanked the representatives and urged coordination with town staff; administration said it would follow up on the waiver and the use of storefront windows for a May display.
