Wastewater Superintendent Brad told the board the new wastewater plant was brought online Monday after seven years of design and construction work. Brad acknowledged a flurry of alarms tied to sensors and components but said most have been addressed; on‑call technicians and an IT vendor helped staff cancel and resolve alerts overnight. He invited board members to tour the facility; outside engineering and regional groups have already toured the site. Brad said the centrifuge delivery is expected in the fourth quarter of this year or possibly the first quarter of next year, and staff will finalize a plan for a public ribbon-cutting after paving and finishing work are complete.
Board members praised operations and acknowledged the large effort required to start a new treatment facility.
