Nus said her platform centers on mental health and described recent work in Forest Park, including a sensory-bottle activity at a local fair and a hands-on event where students and adults discussed calming strategies. She told the council she plans to attend Hampton University beginning June 11 for pre-orientation coursework and is pursuing a pre-med/pre-dental track with the goal of becoming an orthodontist.
Council members and attendees offered congratulations and praised Nus’s leadership and community service. The recognition preceded a county-commissioner presentation and the council’s subsequent business for the evening.
