Robinson Food Pantry director thanks city; says pantry serves about 800 households monthly

Britney Pikes, executive director of the Robinson Food Pantry, thanked the Robinson City Council during the public-comment portion of the meeting for the city’s continued support and use of municipal space, saying the pantry serves approximately 800 households each month.

Pikes told the council that the pantry’s primary distribution days are the first and third Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., and that the pantry offers a walk-through distribution on the Monday following those Saturdays aimed at elderly residents who cannot wait in vehicles. "We are incredibly grateful for the continued support that the city of Robinson has shown our organization throughout the years," she said.

Pikes described a broad volunteer base that helps sustain operations and invited council members to contact the pantry with questions. She also said, as read at the meeting, "Each month we distribute about 100 to 120,000 pounds of food to families throughout the area," a phrasing that was unclear on its face but framed the scale of distribution she reported. She added that volunteers contribute substantial hours to pantry operations and thanked the council for its partnership.

There were no follow-up policy motions from the council related to the pantry during the meeting. Pikes closed by inviting questions and offering gratitude; the council offered thanks in return.
