Officials stressed both the potential efficiency gains — a common database for building, utility and cemetery modules, and customizable dashboards for clerks and inspectors — and the cost and timing questions. Staff also said the vendor indicated a phased timeline and that .NET would be retired in coming months, giving the village roughly 10 months before forced migration.
Councilors asked for clarification about exact contract terms, whether conversion prices are guaranteed if the conversion is delayed, and what data-integration responsibilities the vendor would assume. Members agreed to table the item for further detail and to revisit a decision in December.
No formal contract was approved; the council’s motion was procedural to defer action until staff can confirm pricing, timeline and integration responsibilities with the vendor.
